Amazing Weekend at NAGA for Team Alvarez BJJ Arlington TX!


December 14 & 15, 2013, Team Alvarez BJJ out of Arlington TX had another amazing weekend at the 2013 NAGA Worlds in North Richland Hills, TX! In the last tournament of the year, the Alvarez Jiu Jitsu Army came out in full force with a great Kids, Teens & Adult Team. Teens 14 years old and up along with the adults all fought hard and left it all on the mats on Saturday. Some of the stand outs of the day were Mr. Jorge Monzon (14 yrs old) took Double Gold, Mr. Mark Medina took Double Gold in his first tournament ever, Mr. Troy Jackson took Double Gold, Mr. Justin Rebolloso took Double Gold in his Expert division, Mr. Jordan Shepler won the NO GI Expert division and Mr. Cooper Cardinale won his Expert Purple Belt division.

On Sunday, the kids 13 years old and under all took to the mats and fought their hearts out and displayed some awesome Jiu Jitsu. Some of the stand outs of the day were Mr. Parker Richardson who took Double gold in his Expert division. Mr. Ethan Helton that took Double Gold in his Expert division, Mr. Austin Shen and his twin sisters, Cierra and Kianna all took Gold in their Expert divisions, Mr. Gino Landin took Gold in his Expert division with a takedown with just 5 seconds left & Ms. Jessica Crane that also won her Expert division.

Huge congrats to the Medina family as Mr. Mark Medina and his 2 boys, Matthew and Mason, all took Gold in their divisions. Huge congrats to the Shen family as Mr. Austin and his Twin sisters all won their Expert divisions and all took home NAGA Championship Belts.

It was a long but fun and exciting weekend with a lot of Great wins and a few learning experiences. Congrats again to all our Warriors that fought and laid it all on the line. Huge Thanks to our World Class Coaching Staff for helping all our Warriors get their hands raised in victory!
