The Alvarez BJJ Kids Team dominated the youth division yesterday at the Jiu Jitsu World League tournament in North Richland Hills, TX! Team Alvarez BJJ took a team of 50 kids, teens and juveniles ranging from ages 4 to 17 years old to compete.

There were 3 sets of Team Trophies up for grabs in the Youth division. There was the Youth Academy division, the Youth Organization division and the Elite 8 division. Team Alvarez took 1st place in 2 of those divisions and 3rd place in another one.

Team Alvarez took 1st place in the Youth Academy division which means they scored the most points than any other team from ONE location.

Team Alvarez also took 1st place in the Youth Organization division which means they scored the most points than any other Association. Organization/Association means multiple locations with different coaches all coming together to compete under One Team Name. For example: Team Machado and Team Warrior Martial Arts have multiple locations with different coaches around the DFW metroplex where as Team Alvarez only has One location. Team Alvarez scored enough points to overcome the odds even though they only have one location.

Team Alvarez also took 3rd place in the Elite 8 division. Each team had to pick 8 youth competitors to try to score the most points for their team. Team Alvarez’s 8 competitors scored enough points to take home the 3rd place team trophy.
