July 20 -21, 2013, The 2013 Kids BJJ Worlds results for Team Alvarez BJJ Arlington TX were outstanding! Team Alvarez Jiu Jitsu out of Arlington TX took a small army of 9 kids & teens total to the Kids Worlds in San Bernardino, CA over the weekend to test their skills against some of the best teams and kids in the World. Teams from all over the World like, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Canada, Germany and many more flew into the Coussoulis Arena to see who would become a World Champion!
The Alvarez Jiu Jitsu Kids & Teens Army captured 10 World Championship Titles altogether along with 8 Silver medals with just 9 total competitors. Mr. John Gloria, Mr. Parker Richardson, Mr. Ethan Helton and Mr. Austin Herle all captured both the GI and NO GI World Titles!
To help prepare for competition, Team Alvarez set up a Strength and Conditioning camp ran by Mr. Jordan and Mrs. Natalia Shepler about 6 weeks out before the competition. The kids were ran through some vigorous drills and work outs about an hour a day, 2 to 3 days a week, along with their normal Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling classes to help give them the edge they needed to go out there and win.
Team Alvarez put together a Parents Night Out, a Private Lesson Raffle with Head Instructor Mr. Alvarez and ran a Car Wash where they raised about $1,500 altogether to help get some of their young warriors out to California. It’s not every day you get a chance to fly out to California to get a shot at becoming a Jiu Jitsu World Champion so these 9 competitors took full advantage of the opportunity and came back with some amazing results!
Congrats to all 9 competitors for all their Hard Work and Dedication and huge thank you to Everyone that had a Hand in helping these young warriors accomplish their dreams.
